In 2022, I attended a short course about teaching skills for an English teacher. The course focuses on developing speaking skills for teachers to help their students achieve their desired scores in an exam. I had a chance to learn from Mrs. Ngoc, an IELTS teacher and a person that I admire, and expand my networks with mindset-like people, which benefits my communication career path.

This certificate represents my effort in studying a new skill that turns out to be beneficial for my future career in the Communication industry, especially tasks that are related to education.

This is one of my very first achievements in my self-development career. It was in 2019 that I decided to attend the TESOL course, and those experiences working and studying in a professional environment for a high school student like me at that time were phenomenal. I had a chance to learn from exceptional people in the educatioan industry, and being able to showcase my teaching ability and knowledge on the demo teaching day with Mr. Warren was memorable. I highly value his pieces of advice about presentation skills, tone of voice, or critical thinking for my future career. All in all, this achievement laid the foundation for my confidence and a clear orientation.

I have to say this is my very first achievement in my professional career, since it plays a pivotal role in shaping my point of view and perception about the working environment in general, and the world of language teachers in particular. It also built my confidence and useful skills like teamwork or critical thinking, which helped my journey at RMIT a lot.
